Welcome
The Kiwanis Club of Miami serves the community in the greater Miami-Dade County area without any distinct boundary to its operations.
Our recent geographical emphasis has been in the area of South Miami, Kendall and West Kendall. Periodic activities take us as far north as Northwest 49th Street in Miami and as far south as Black Point Marina. Several of the Club Members visited the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind for lunch on July 22, 2008. We were treated with music from the All Children Together summer program at the Lighthouse. For more information about the Lighthouse, see
Miami Lighthouse VOTE: The Lighthouse is funded in large part by the Children's Trust . The existence of the Trust is apparently on a 5-year renewal cycle and must be approved by Miami-Dade County voters before each cycle. The renewal is on the August 26, 2008 Primary Ballot. Make sure to vote. More information at Dade Elections See the Event Photos page for some additional videos from this visit.
| Is it In You? There are many ways to participate in community service. Convicted criminals sometimes draw a coummunity service sentence rather than jail time. Miami-Dade County Public (and other) School students must perform community service as part of their graduation requirement. Doing community service, however, to assist one's fellow man should NOT be forced. Alternatively, VOLUNTEERISM can be a better way. There are hundreds of large and small organizations that all provide service to the community. Our organization is Kiwanis, which Kiwanians think is one of the best. The opportunities are many, and through Kiwanis and its resources, we have the means to achieve worthwhile results. | Any questions regarding Kiwanis Club of Miami may be directed to Lawrence Percival, President 305-386-2477 or 305-301-3005 George Cadman 305-322-3471 or George Lucas 305-264-2221 or Look further at our site for more information . |
